As of Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost, she is additionally shown with wings. Doujins sometimes portray her wearing a modern school uniform as homage to her origins.
She is a generally good, if somewhat naive and clumsy, girl, but also an overeager youkai hunter (leading to her portrayal of frequently bullying Tatara Kogasa after a scene in Undefined Fantastic Object where Sanae gave scathing words against the latter).
She is occasionally depicted as a generation or so behind due to Mountain of Faith first releasing in 2007.
She is sometimes called "2P Reimu" or "Miko Luigi" due to Reimu's red outfit compared to Sanae's green outfit.
