stay gold (umamusume) — キャラタグ見本

A character from Umamusume, voiced by Matsuda Satsumi.

A travelling enthusiast, a born wanderer and a heartthrob for other horse girls, Stay Gold ("Stego") is the founder and president of Tracen Academy's Expeditionary Support Group, though this isn't known to most of the student body due to her constant absence; likewise, her status as Gold Ship's roommate rarely comes into play.

Like her real world namesake, in-game events imply she had a fierce temperament in her past, and other characters frequently bow to her opinions out of either respect for her experience or fear of angering her. Her career also reveals that Stay Gold is one of the only characters with some level of awareness of the real world, seemingly retaining some memories of the real horse and acting to avert some of Japanese horseracing history's tragedies.

Stay Gold is also the namesake and progenitor of the Stay Gold clan (umamusume)|, being the real-world sire of Gold Ship, Orfevre (Umamusume)|, Dream Journey (Umamusume)|, Nakayama Festa (Umamusume)| and Fenomeno (Umamusume)|; though not biologically related to any of them, they often form a clique, with Dream Journey treating Stay Gold as an honorary older sibling and Gold Ship referring to her as "gramps".
