She has very long brown-black hair, wears a black dress and wields two swords. In her unascended form she has a braided ponytail and wears glasses. In her ascended form, she removes her glasses and has unbraided hair.

Historically she was known as the lover of Xiang Yu (fate)|. In Type-Moon lore she is an immortal elemental, a type of spirit similar to the True Ancestors like Arcueid Brunestud. Since she's been ostracized by humans for millennia for being a vampire, she greatly hates mankind. She also deeply despises Koyanskaya (fate)| because she witnessed Daji another incarnation of the Great Fox, bring down an empire.
